so, depending on the mood of a certain icelandic volcano, i may or may not be able to fly to sweden for the
swedish SPX festival this weekend... but it's looking like it's going to be possible to make it out there, all my fingers are crossed. i have been using part of my current residency at
spudnik press to silkscreen and hand-bind a set of new little stories, eleven of which i'll bring with me to the festival. the book is titled
don't drink from the sea. i am far from being an expert bookbinder, but hopefully by the end of my time binding this edition of 45 books i will be at least a little better, or at least less covered in glue and newsprint bits and band-aids than i am now. anyway, back to crossing my fingers some more.
wow this is really beautiful, I totally love that work! can I buy it in some way? :)
ReplyDeleteyeah likewise how can i buy one of these?
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of your beautiful creations, Ms. Carre.
ReplyDeleteLet me second (third?) that emotion! Where may I purchase them? Is a Swedish excursion necessary?
ReplyDeletei love this project lilli! hi-5s!
ReplyDeletethanks for being there! your books made the whole trip to stockholm worth it! :D
ReplyDeleteI need to own at least one of these books...
ReplyDeletedo you have any copies left I could buy? These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteoops, i don't check these comments frequently enough! anyway, thanks y'all! if you're interested in getting one of the books, i have some left so just email me at lillicarre(at)gmail(dot)com, and spudnik press (where I printed them) has ten copies that they are selling too, and the money goes towards supporting the print shop-- you can email angee(at)spudnikpress(dot)com.
ReplyDeleteHello Lilli, I'm a huge fan and a novice bookbinder. I've falling for these patterned endpapers you used. Where are they from?
