Afterimage is about to descend on Chicago, starting tonight! Afterimage is a series of exhibitions in Chicago, all centered around artists who have been influenced by the work of the Chicago Imagists, masterfully curated by Thea Liberty Nichols and Dahlia Tulett-Gross. Tonight the 6th is the first Afterimage satellite exhibition opening at the Center for Book and Paper Arts, where my recent animation Like A Lantern will be playing on loop alongside the work of some really great Chicago painters, printers, and book artists.

Then next Friday, September 14th, there will be the main event at the DePaul Art Museum, which should be mind-melting! My animation Bleedin' Heart will be playing on loop there, and I'll also have my animation Head Garden screening at the Joan Flash Artists' Book Collection at SAIC for the Afterimage satellite event there the same day.

Whew! Chicago will be neck-deep in Afterimage, starting tonight.
